The CVTheatre HS/MS theater is located on the Chartiers Valley High School / Middle School campus. The theater was build alongside the original campus structure in 1979 and housed well over 100 productions before being renovated in 2016.
As the first phase of the Chartiers Valley High School / Middle School renovation project, the HS/MS theater underwent cosmetic renovations. The chairs were replaced with entirely new seats, combining the previous sections B & C, as well as merging general admission into two sections. 12 handicapped seats were added. The stage was completely redone, as well as the backstage walls being painted black. The theater interior was repainted a bright white color and power saving LED house light fixtures were installed. Behind the scenes, new state of the art HVAC systems were installed.
Equipped with ETC Sensor dimming racks, DMX house lights and multiple DMX Universes, the CVTheatre provides professional grade stage lighting education to our students. With support for traditional fixtures, smart fixtures and intense power draw, almost any smart fixture imaginable can be run in the theater.
As a tradition dating back to the 1980's, graduating seniors of the CVTheatre program are invited to spray paint their name in the garage to leave their mark. There have been some impressive creations over the years, including the "Tri-Pod" senior group from 2006. Turn off the lights in the garage and watch the glow in the dark paint bring the garage to life.
